Dev Update: It's Raining on the Battle Map

Most virtual tabletops treat weather like a checkbox. Rain: on. Rain: off. Nothing changes but a filter.

We wanted the map to actually feel like it's raining.

What's new

  • Live weather. Rain falls across the battle map in real time; a real particle system, not a painted overlay. It reacts to camera angle and light the way weather should.

  • Light that does something. Torches and campfires now cast real glow and flicker. Walk a token past one and watch the shadows move with it.

  • A cleaner HUD. A compass for orientation, a day/time tracker so your party knows if it's Day 1, 9 PM or three nights into a dungeon crawl.

  • A camera that moves. Zoom, pan, rotate. Get low and cinematic for a big moment, or pull back for the tactical view.
